SAAB 900 drift question by aerorock: I have a 1995 Saab 900 and last night something strange happened and doesn’t start now. Help please?
I have a 1995 Saab 900 and last night while I was driving, my dashboard lights went out. I figured that’s strange but they came back on almost immediately so I kind of ignored it. It made the beeping noise but my text display panel doesn’t work.

But later on, the same thing happened, but only some of the lights on the dashboards went off and some came on and my car just stalled. I pulled over and at some points ALL of the dashboard lights went on and then at one point only a few of them went on. It’s obviously not the battery or my hazards wouldn’t have worked. The car would not start no matter what. It started to make a slight grinding noise when I held the key in the ignition. So I had to get it towed. I’ll be honest, I don’t know much about cars but I want to have a good idea of what to explain when I get the car looked at.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

the exact same thing happened to my saab 900s 97model. I was driving it and all of a sudden the dashlights turn off and the car stalls while im driving, just drifting along with no brakes, power steering gone, nothing! To this day the mechanics could never find out what the problem was, but i go the gearbox replaced and all of a sudden it went back to normal. But i am more than positive the computer shat itself, and it had nothing to do with fuses. It was a electronic thing and the main computer had shut it down. But i got it up and running, if i take it out of gear and try to start it whilst the car was still drifting into the abyss. If the car stops then its very hard to start it up again.

  1. ErikMartijn says:

idiot, even stalled it. You should learn how to drive before doing
handbrake stuff. and it obviously isnt a drift…

  2. just looked like you slid…out of control….which isn’t a “drift”…
