Lotus Evora question by Diego: Why are lotus so expensive if there so slow?
A lotus evora costs around 70k but it only has 300hp why do people buy them when they can buy a 2014 ford mustang boss 302 that has more than 400hp. My question is why do they buy them?

A Lotus Evora can get up to 60 M.P.H. in 4.8 seconds…

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 can get up to 60 M.P.H. in 4 seconds, but still, the Evora is a fast car.

But the main reason why the Evora is expensive is because it is a highly developed track car — Ford Mustang can handle some twists and turns, but nowhere as close to an Evora. The Evora literally hugs the road, the Mustang will slide around it with the mammoth of power blowing the back tires through the pavement.

It also has an extremely stiff chassis design — takes a whopping 27,000 Nm to twist the frame just ONE degree — so the Evora has a higher quality engineering. Ford Mustang does not have a unique frame.

The engine/transmission design being built behind the driver is another reason why it is expensive — it is built for racing in tracks and not the drag strip like the Mustang is preferred for.

Their advanced traction/stability program (DPM) has multiple settings to accustom the driver better — something not found in the Mustang.

And the overall quality and construction of the Evora is much better.
